A recent poll conducted by online news publication Crosscut suggests that a majority of people in Washington cities, suburbs, and small towns think things are getting better in their communities, while a majority of those living in rural areas expect their communities to get worse. Additionally, the survey looked at a variety of political issues.

“Washington is a center-left state—not as dark blue as it looks on the presidential election map,” said pollster Stuart Elway. “But the denser the population, the more liberal the politics. So both the population growth and the ideological sorting of the parties have worked to the benefit of the Democrats.”

Results show Washington Governor Jay Inslee has an approval rating of 45%. He has not been above 50% at any point during his three terms.
