Multi-vehicle crashes close down I-82 at Oregon/Washington border

Eastbound traffic on I-82 was closed Monday morning after several cars crashed at the Oregon/Washington border.

The initial crash was reported just after 5:30am, when several vehicles spun out on the Umatilla Bridge.

According to Trooper Chris Thorson with the Washington State Patrol, at least 8 cars are involved on the Washington side. Another 15 are piled-up on the Oregon side of the bridge.

Traffic is backed up for several miles in each direction.
