Man Killed in Yakima Drive-By Shooting

(Yakima, WA) — A man was killed in a drive-by shooting over the weekend. Yakima Police got a call around 5:30 am Saturday morning. The caller advised that their friend had been shot by subjects in a car on West Chestnut Avenue. When police arrived, they found a 34 year-old man unconscious on the street. Medics were unable to revive him, and he was pronounced dead on scene.

The incident is under investigation as a homicide. At this time, it is still unknown whether or not gang activity is involved, however YPD’s Major Crimes Unit and Gang Unit are leading the investigation.
