KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A Kennewick man faces charges after hitting a woman with his pick-up, then driving away from the scene.

The incident happened at about 3:00pm Thursday, on Columbia Center Blvd. at the intersection with W. Okanogan Pl. Witnesses say the victim was crossing Columbia Center Blvd. in the crosswalk when a white Chevrolet Silverado struck the woman.

Witnesses stopped to help the victim, but not before documenting the suspect's license plate number.

The victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Kadlec Medical Center.

Officers located the pick-up and the suspected driver. Jeffrey Montgomery, 56, was arrested for suspicion of felony Hit and Run, as well as Driving while License Suspended.

"We want to thank all of the witnesses who remained at the location to help the victim and provide a good, detailed description of the suspect vehicle," said Lt. Aaron Clem in a statement that was released after the incident.

Investigators are asking any witnesses who have not already provided a statement to officers to please contact the Kennewick Police Department through the non-emergency dispatch number, 509-628-0333.
