Four of the most iconic aircraft from World War II will be flying into Pasco on Wednesday as part of a national flying tribute to veterans.

Hunter Chaney says they have brought the Wings of Freedom Tour to the area for more than ten years. He says the event is a "truly interactive flying memorial," which will bring in four planes, a B-17 Flying Fortress, a B-24 Liberator, a B-25 Mitchell "Tondelayo" bomber and a P-51 Mustang fighter.

"The aircraft really are representation of the greatest generation, and one of the things we look forward to the most is not so much the aircraft themselves but the veterans they represent," says Chaney.

The goal of the event is to honor veterans and educate the younger generations about World War II. The plans will be flying in from Yakima Wednesday afternoon and remain at Bergstrom Aircraft at the Pasco Airport until Sunday.

The community is invited to come out and see the planes. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. Visitors also have the chance to take a flight in one of the aircraft for an additional fee. For more information about reserving a flight you are asked to call 800-568-8924.

You can find more information about the tour on the Collings Foundation website.
