Good Samaritan Helps Detain Kidnapping Suspect in Pierce County

SPANAWAY, Wash--The Pierce County Sheriff's Department is investigating an attempted kidnapping in Spanaway Sunday night. According to the police report, three teen girls were walking to a store along Mountain Highway near Field Road. That's when the 56-year-old suspect started talking to the group, saying he wanted to take one of them with him.

The suspect is now in custody after a passerby noticed one of the girls flagging him down and he punched the man, detaining him until deputies arrived.
