Fatal Yakima Accident

A fatal accident in Yakima caused by intoxicants.

A vehicle driven by a 20 year old Yakima man failed to stop for a red light on 48th Ave. Wednesday night, striking the car of a 23 year old Wapato man.

Two male passengers in the offending vehicle, aged 23 and 19, and a 19 year old male passenger in the struck car were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 20 year old female passenger from the victim vehicle was transported to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A 5 year old female passenger in the same car was treated at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital and then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for additional care in stable condition.

The offending driver is facing charges of Vehicular Homicide and Vehicular Assault.
