FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. - Franklin County Commissioner Rocky Mullen is backing off his push to fire County Administrator Keith Johnson.

At the Tuesday, April 6 meeting, the newly-elected representative of District 2 made an abrupt motion to terminate Johnson, which led to fiery exchanges between the board members.

The issue was tabled until Tuesday, April 13 when Mullen read a statement declaring he would work with the administrator.

According to some reports, firing Johnson would have meant a $70,000 hit to the county, given the terms of his contract.
