Attempted Church Arson

The Boardman Police Department and Morrow County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 38 year old man after he allegedly tried to set fire to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Boardman Monday afternoon.

The Reverend of the church told officers that he found the suspect at the parsonage patio burning a small pallet using a charcoal chimney and rosary beads to start the fire…all of which was church property.

Charges against him include second-degree arson, reckless burning, and second-degree burglary.
