Apartment Fire in Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA, Wash.- A kitchen fire in a Walla Walla apartment caused $51,000 in damages on Tuesday, March 30.

Walla Walla Firefighters report that the resident says she unknowingly turned on her stove top, which had towels sitting on top of the burners. The resident says she briefly left the apartment and came back to find the kitchen on fire just before 10 p.m.

An automatic sprinkler system turned on, which extinguished the fire and saved the entire apartment complex from further damage.
