Diner near Leavenworth destroyed by fire

A well-known diner will have to build from the ground up, after a fire over the weekend destroyed the building.

Chelan County Rural District #3 responded to the fire at The 59’er Diner on Saturday, which is believed to have started in the kitchen. Crews say the flames quickly spread to the roof and caused considerable damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The 59’er Diner is on Highway 2 just 15 miles from Leavenworth and serves burgers, fries and malts.
