Water will be shut off for some KID customers due to leak

Due to a leak in the concrete section of the main irrigation canal near Badger Road and I-82, some Kennewick Irrigation District customers may not have service over the weekend.

Officials say to repair the leak, they have to shut down water delivery to the main canal. They hope to get the issue fixed by Monday, but in the meantime customers served off the Main Canal, Division 4 Canal and the Highland Feeder Canal will be impacted.

KID adds it does not know the extent of the damage until the canal is drained and inspected.
