WA State Rep Klippert announces challenge to Newhouse in 2022

TRI-CITIES, Wash.-Washington State Representative Brad Klippert of the 8th Legislative District is the first to announce a challenge to incumbent Congressman Dan Newhouse in 2022.

On 610 KONA's show "The Bottom Line", the Republican from Kennewick noted that he first thought about a run for that position a few years ago when longtime Congressman Doc Hastings resigned. But added that the field of challengers at that time was so big, he set that thought aside.

That was until recently, when Rep. Newhouse cast a vote in favor of impeaching President Donald Trump for inciting an insurrection...a vote that can under fire from his constituents. In fact, the the GOP Party leaders in six counties in the 4th Congressional District sent Newhouse a letter calling for him to resign over that vote.

Rep. Brad Klippert was born and raised in Sunnyside, Washington. He has served in the state House since 2008.

As a 25-year county law enforcement officer, Brad has served communities in western and central Washington. He currently serves as a deputy sheriff with the Benton County Sheriff's Office. He also works as a school resource officer and is dedicated to keeping students, faculty and the community safe during the academic school year. Before his time in central Washington, he worked as a deputy sheriff for the Pierce County Sheriff's Office.

With over 30-years of military service, Brad has served as a helicopter pilot and holds the rank of commander in the Washington State Army National Guard. He has had the privilege of transporting a United States Vice President, and two Haitian presidents during his career.
