Kennewick police say a 29-year-old man is behind bars following an over 2-hour standoff Friday at the Heatherstone apartments off west 10th Avenue.

Officers say the man was originally believed to be involved in a Richland armed robbery but he was later found not to be involved. After Richland police pinged the armed robbery suspect's cell phone, they were lead to the Heatherstone Apartments. When officers arrived Friday afternoon around 1 p.m., two men and a woman immediately came out of the apartment but officers say a third man refused.

After a two hour standoff, both SWAT and the bomb squad were called to the area to help assist. Officers called out to the suspect over the loud speaker and used two flash bangs before the man finally came out. 29-year-old Casey Caprai now faces charges for several warrants.

"Police converged on this apartment, Mr. Caprai knew he that had warrants and that is the reason why he did not exit the apartment, because he did not want to be arrested for his warrants. It turned out it had nothing to do with him being involved in the robbery," says Roman Trujilo with Kennewick police.

The other three people detained by police, were questioned and released.
