Washington State- As educators and child care workers are added to the COVID vaccine eligibility list in Washington State, the Health Department says the best place for those people to get their dose is through the federal pharmacy program.

Deputy State Health Secretary Lacy Fehrenbach says, "We've been told by the federal government that the providers in this program will prioritize educators and childcare workers at their sites through the end of March. Here in Washington we have 6 pharmacies involved in this program. Those pharmacies are getting 65,00 does this week and 72,00 next week."

Those pharmacies include Safeway, Albertsons, Wal-Mart, Costco, Rite Aid, Health Mart and Kroger.

Fehrenback adds, "Based on what we're hearing from the federal partners on the supply to this program, we do believe, we will be able to meet the challenge to administer first doses to those eligible educators an childcare workers in Washington State by the end of this month."
