Corporate officials say they may not ever know the cause of a 3-alarm fire which damaged the Tyson beef plant near Wallula.

Public Relations Manager Caroline Ahn did not give a reason as to why, but says production is back up and running Monday, with harvest and the processing divisions to follow throughout the week.

The facility was not operating at the time of the blaze last Tuesday morning around 4 a.m. and there were no injuries, other than one person treated for smoke inhalation. Walla Walla District 5 Fire Chief says there was severe damage to the area of the plant where the fire started.
