A fight near Toppenish left two men injured Tuesday night.

According to a press release from the Yakima County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened at the Toppenish Flea Market in the 900 block of W. 1st Ave.

Yakama Nation Tribal Police responded to a report of a fight in the area, and found two males suffering from stab wounds.

The suspect had fled the area on foot, but was located in the 100 block of Fort Road, not far from the scene of the fight.

Because the suspect was not an enrolled Native American, he was turned over to the custody of the Yakima County Sheriff's Office.

A 29-year Wapato man was taken to Toppenish Astria Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening cuts.

A 32-year-old Toppenish area was taken by ambulance to Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital in Yakima for more serious knife wounds, but those wounds were also believed to be non-life-threatening.

The 24-year-old Toppenish accused of stabbing the victims is being held on suspicion of two counts of Assault.
