Last year, the Tri-Cities Cancer Center held a series of cooking class designed to teach how to cook meals using foods with cancer-fighting properties.

"And there was such a huge response to the first three classes that we had last year, we decided to bring it back and expand it a little bit this year to five classes," said Ken Gamboa, Director of Marketing at the Tri-Cities Cancer Center. "It's really focused on providing excellent, tasty dishes that are healthy, and cancer-fighting, that people can easily make at home."

The classes will be held at Red Mountain Kitchen in Kennewick, taught by Chef Kyle Thornhill, who incorporates the region's abundant availability of produce in the meals.

"Some of the local ingredients can be sourced right from our local farmer's markets. We have amazing farmer's markets here in town," said Thornhill. "And it's a great resource for us to gather information and to get produce from."

Lourdes Health Dietitian and Tri-Cities Cancer Center Naturopathic physician, Dr. Lindsey Josephson provides the class participants with information about what to look for in cancer-fighting foods.

Registration for the classes is now open. They're scheduled for the following dates:

  • Thursday, February 13th, 2020
