You'll likely be seeing pink this October to help bring awareness to breast cancer and one northeastern Washington sheriff's office is taking part in the movement.

Chelan County Sheriff’s Office says it is going "Pink" with special pink badges and “SHERIFF” insignias on their patrol uniforms. The office hopes it reminds people to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same.

According to the American Cancer Society it's estimated that among U.S. women there will be 252,710 new cases of invasive breast cancer and 40,610 breast cancer deaths. There's light at the end of the tunnel, the organization also says mortality rate from breast cancer has decreased by 38% from 1989 to 2014.
