Study finds WA has best community college system in the U.S.

The personal finance website "Wallet Hub" has ranked more than 700 community colleges throughout the nation and Washington state has been declared to have the best system in the U.S.

Specifically, schools were judged on their cost-to-education quality ratio. This included per-pupil spending, school spending efficiency, first-year retention rates, graduation and transfer-out rates, student-faculty ratio, and the overall return on educational investment, or what these students making when they get a job.

Pierce College in Puyallup was the top community college in the state and fifth in the nation. The best school in our area was Big Bend Community College at fourth in the state and 72nd overall.

Oregon has the 17th best system in the nation.
