Benton County Mosquito Control confirmed that a second mosquito in the Tri-Cities has been confirmed to be carrying the West Nile Virus.

The latest insect was trapped on Bateman Island in Richland.

Mosquito Control says it plans to treat the island with a truck-based fogger as soon as weather conditions allow.

The agency will spray by airplane over Grandview Sewage Lagoons, Byron Ponds, and Mabton Saturday evening.

Spraying schedules are updated daily atwww.mosquitocontrol.org/fogging.
