After months of speculation, the Richland School District has confirmed that Nicole McTavish no longer has a future as the district's Superintendent.

The confirmation comes after months of speculation, spurred on by the school board recently extended the contract for current Superintendent Rick Schulte, who planned to retire at the end of the 2019-19 school year.

RSD has agreed on a settlement with McTavish, paying her an up-front, lump sum payment of $62,000, and an additional $200,000 for each of next two years if she is unable to find a new job in that time.
