The Richland School District has scheduled a number of flu shot clinics this month, to give staff members, students, and their families the chance to get vaccinated ahead of the flu season.

RSD has partnered with the Seattle Visiting Nurse Association, which will administer the shots.

Safety Manager Joan Gribskov with the school district says more than 700 people received flu shots at last year's clinics.

"We only have 180 days of school for students," said Gribskov. "If they miss a day here and they miss a day there, we end up with snow days, or other things that interrupt the learning process,  it can be difficult to catch up."

The clinics are open to all RIchland School District faculty, staff, students, and their families. Only children four years of age and older may receive a shot. Insurance is accepted at the clinic. Adults without medical insurance will pay a $30.00 immunization fee.
