A second man is behind bars following a Walla Walla crash that left a woman in critical condition.

Officers say the 20-year-old driver was able to avoid the crash, but faces charges for racing at high-speeds with the driver who hit the woman's car.

Rick Plasencia-Torres, faces two counts of Complicity to commit Vehicular Assault 2nd Degree.

Officers say 26-year-old Kamden Knaus is believed to have been racing with Plasencia-Torres on Cascade Drive, going 60 miles per hour on a 30 mph road. Andrea Lowe was pulling out of a gas station when his car hit the side of her car around 11:40 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Lowe suffered from severe internal injuries and a broken pelvis as a result of the wreck. Her 10-year-old son was in the front seat on the passenger side of the vehicle. He suffered a possible broken jaw and was treated and released at a local hospital.

The driver Knaus, believed to be racing, was taken into custody and is being held on two counts of Vehicular Assault.
