Police investigating after teen hit by car in Richland

Richland Police are investigating after a teenager was hit by a car at Wellsian Way and Aaron Drive.

Captain Mike Cobb says the car was turning from Aaron Drive onto Wellsian Way around 6:55 Wednesday morning on a green light according to witnesses. At the same time, a 15-year-old started crossing the street and was hit by the car.

The 15-year-old said she also thought she had a walk signal, but officers say the light and the crosswalk signal should work independently from one another. Officers are now investigating what exactly happened.

The 15-year old girl was taken to Kadlec with minor injuries.
