(Seattle, WA) -- A Seattle man is charged with assault in connection with the stabbing of a convenience store clerk in Seattle's Northgate neighborhood after the man was told to put on a mask. Police arrested 18-year-old Edil Pineda-Mencia at his apartment last week. Court documents state he began arguing with the store clerk over his refusal to put on a mask. He then stabbed the clerk, who was taken to the hospital.

Pineda-Mencia later told police he was drunk at the time. Prosecutors have charged him with second-degree assault. He'll be arraigned December sixth.
