PASCO, Wash.-- Two men suspected of being involved in a Pasco homicide exchanged gunfire with police officers during a confrontation in Pasco Sunday afternoon.

The initial shooting happened at a home in the 1900 block of E. Lewis St. in Pasco on April 28th, leaving Luis Alexander Contreras, 29, dead. Two other men were also shot and injured before the suspects fled.

Antonio Larios, 18, was arrested May 8th in Granger, and detectives were still searching for Miguel Angel Montalvo, 21 and his cousin, Juan Manuel Montalvo, 25. Last week, police in King County, Washington, located the car the men were believed to be driving.

On Sunday morning, officers responded to another shooting at the same home. In this case, two men with their faces partially covered with masks forced their way into the house, and shot two people. A 17-year old male and a woman in her thirties were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The suspects fled the house on foot.

While officers were on the scene investigating, they received a report about a man who had been car-jacked.

The victim told investigators that two men wearing masks had ordered him out of his car near the scene of the shooting, forced the victim into the trunk of the car, and drove away. The victim waited until the car slowed down enough where he was able to use an emergency lever to open the trunk and escape.

Police located the stolen car in the 2100 block of N. 19th Ave. in Pasco Sunday afternoon.

About an hour after the vehicle was located, officers approached a home at the corner of N. 12th and Nixon, believed to be connected with one or both of the shootings.

Sgt. Rigo Pruneda with the Pasco Police Department said as officers approached the house, two subjects ran out of the house and into an alley. When they were confronted by officers in an alley behind the home, gunfire was exchanged.

Both subjects were struck. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other male was taken to an area hospital in unknown condition. No officers were hurt.

At least two other people left the house under police direction and were detained for questioning. A bystander was also detained for questioning.

Pasco Police, along with Kennewick Police, Richland Police, Franklin County Sheriff's Deputies, and Benton County Sheriff's Deputies at the scene of Sunday evening's officer-involved shooting at 12th and Nixon.

Sgt. Pruneda said because officers fired their weapons and a death is involved, the regional Special Investigations Unit will take over the investigation. Pasco patrol officers are all issued a body-worn camera, but it's not known at this time if any cameras were in use, or how many.

Police aren't confirming the identities of the two subjects until their families are notified, except to say that they were wanted in connection with the April 28th shooting. It's not known at this point if they were also involved in this morning's shooting at the same location.

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact the Richland Police Department at 509-628-0333.
