A suspect has been killed in an officer-involved shooting in Spokane Valley.

The Spokane County Sheriff's Office has confirmed to local media that the suspect was shot and killed by a law enforcement officer, but the circumstances that led to the shooting are not clear yet.

Deputies say the man went into a business on Montgomery near Woodruff while it was closed to the public, and fired shots.

Corporal Mark Gregory said several law enforcement officers, including SWAT team members, were training nearby when the initial report came in, prompting a quick response to the scene.

A man who works in the area told KXLY in Spokane that he was outside when he heard several shots fired from a nearby business.

Aaron Love said a short time later he saw a man, possibly an officer, standing in the parking lot shooting toward a black truck.

The truck then reportedly crashed.

Deputies have confirmed that the suspected shooter is dead, and there is no threat to the public.

No other injuries were reported.
