RICHLAND, Wash.-- One person was arrested early Sunday morning after police say he used an ax to break down the door to an apartment unit.


Richland Police officers responded to the apartment complex on Queensgate Drive just after midnight Sunday for a report of someone banging on the door of a third floor apartment unit and yelling threats.


Officers located the 34-year old Richland man, after he had chopped down the door.

The victim had armed himself and was hold the suspect at bay until officers to the scene and took the man into custody.


The man was booked into the Benton County Jail for suspicion of Harassment and Attempted Residential Burglary.
