(Kennewick, WA) -- The matter is settled, between Kennewick's former fire chief and the city. In a statement Kennewick confirmed the city offered Vince Beasley 400-thousand, 1 dollars plus reasonable attorneys fees, the number of which has not yet been determined. In a statement the city said "As we put this matter to rest, we note that the City’s position at the time of Chief Beasley’s resignation in September 2019 has not changed." Beasley was with the City of Kennewick for nearly 40 years before he resigned. The city confirmed the offer they made was accepted by Beasley and his attorneys. Beasley filed the suit over claims of racial discrimination and retaliation.
