Kennewick police investigate 23-year-old’s death as possible drug overdose

Police are investigating after a 23-year-old man died in a Kennewick apartment Tuesday afternoon, possibly from a drug overdose.

Kennewick Detective Ryan Kelly says they were called out around 12:30 p.m. to the La Serena apartments off 7701 W. 4th Ave. for a report of a man who had stopped breathing.

Kelly says when they arrived paramedics tried to give him medical aid but he died at the scene. Officers say two other people, a man and a woman who were at the apartment at the time, were taken in to the department for questioning.

At this point, officers say they are investigating all angles of what may have caused his death, including a drug overdose.

Kelly said around 1:30 p.m. they were still working to get a search warrant for the apartment to be able to gather evidence from the scene.
