Washington Governor Jay Inslee announced on MSNBC Wednesday evening that he is dropping out of the race for the Democratic Presidential nomination.

Just days ago, he reached the 130,000 donor threshold, but was not close to meeting the 2% poll standard to get an invitation to the next debate. That debate was one he had called for, focusing on his central campaign topic, climate change.

It is unclear whether or not he will seek a third term as Governor, noting he would return to Washington and weigh his options.

Inslee becomes the third Democrat to exit the race, joining Rep. Eric Swalwell and Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper.
