OLYMPIA, Wash.- Washington Governor Jay Inslee held a briefing on the COVID-19 Virus Friday afternoon. But, it was NOT to issue a statewide shelter-in-place directive as many people speculated.

What the Governor did say, however, is that more people in the state need to take the current social distancing orders seriously, or he could be forced to shut the state down, except for the absolutely necessary ventures outdoors. Inslee noted that traffic along the state's busiest highways and byways is down, but not enough. He also noted that some young people are spending their days off from the statewide school closure by congregating with their friends, pleading with them and everyone to stop doing that.

"Someone asked the other day what's the penalty for a young person going out..hanging out... and it's true the penalty is you might kill your grandparent", Inslee said at Friday's briefing. "Technically it's a crime to violate any of these rules, but its a moral crime in my book."

The Governor also gave an update on the testing for the virus in the state. He noted nearly 21,000 tests have been conducted for the COVID-19 Virus and 93% have come back negative.

"We don't want people to think that we're out of the woods", Inslee said with respect to the 7% positive tests.
