The National Weather Service in Pendleton issued a winter storm warning for snow from 1 p.m. Wednesday to 4 a.m. Thursday in Prosser, Tri-Cities, Connell, Walla Walla and Waitsburg.

Meteorologist say we are expected to get 3 to 6 inches and north of the Tri-Cities could see 2 to 3 inches and driving viability is expected to be poor.

All the weather is causing schools to take precautions ahead of the weather.

Grandview Schools principal Jose Rivera says Christmas programs that were scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday nights has been rescheduled for Wednesday afternoon. The school's kindergarten and fifth grade classes, as well as Mrs. Sylling's class will now take place from 1:20 to 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, followed by the school's second and fourth grade program, which will take place that same afternoon from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. After school tutoring has also been canceled for the week. At Grandview Middle School, officials say the Band, Choir and Mariachi Winter Concert originally scheduled to take place on Monday, Dec. 12, was rescheduled. It will now take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9.

Richland School District says all buses will be using snow routes thru this Friday.

The Sheriff’s Roundtable community meeting scheduled for Tuesday December 13, 2016 at 5:30pm at Columbia High School in Burbank, WA has been cancelled. The next one is scheduled for this Thursday December 15 at 5:30pm at Walla Walla High School Commons.
