On an average week, Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels delivers meals to as many as 650 seniors who aren't able to cook for themselves or can't travel to a senior center.

The charity's Nutrition Services Program Director, Marcee Woffinden, says the need for meals grows every year as Baby Boomers age beyond their retirement year.

Meals on Wheels is required to raise about 1/3 of their annual budget, and they do that through local donations and fundraisers.

The organization is holding a fun run on Saturday, March 31st to help raise funds to support their work helping seniors in the community.
