A crash between a hay truck and a minivan in Franklin County early Monday morning sent four people to the hospital.

According the Washington State Patrol, a semi truck driven by Thomas Manthei, 49, Richland, was headed east on Eltopia West Road, and tried making a left turn onto Highway 395.

Manthei failed to yield the right-of-way, and was struck by a southbound Honda Odyssey carrying four Othello residents.

The 62-year old man driving the minivan was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Three passengers, a 62-year old female, 28-year old female, and 25-year old female, were also transported to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco. There's no information about the extent of their injuries.

Manthei was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
