Former Seattle Seahawk Found to Have had CTE When he Allegedly Shot Himself and Six Others
(Rock Hill, SC) -- Results of a medical scan on former Seattle Seahawk Phillip Adams have been released. He allegedly killed six people in South Carolina earlier this year before allegedly turning the gun on himself. Now an autopsy shows severe brain damage caused by Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy. CTE is a disease associated with head trauma and concussions. An expert on neurodegenerative diseases at Boston University said Adams had a severe case in both frontal lobes of his brain.
Adams had only a brief stint with Seattle, but played the Cornerback position professionally for multiple teams from 2010 to 2015.
