Fire crews continue to investigate a suspicious fire which started on the front door step of a home early Thursday morning.

Pasco Firefighters say they were called out to a house fire around 5:00 a.m. after one of the family members were sleeping in the front room and heard a noise. They noticed the fire creeping in the house from outside the front entryway and was able to get everyone out. No one was hurt in the fire.

Pasco police officers say due to the nature of where the fire was located on the cement front step they have ruled it suspicious. After pointing out a Christmas wreath as a possible cause, firefighters were also able to rule it out.

Firefighters say thankfully the fire burned only did a small amount of damage to the inside of the house, but did burn the front door, as well as, the awning.
