Benton County deputies say a person of interest and two potential witnesses of a Benton City shooting are believed to be headed to California.

Deputies say 24-year-old Christian Michael Hernandez, a person of interest, is believed to be traveling with 25-year-old Jazmine Marie Torres and 24-year-old Francisco Morales Jr., who are believed to be potential witnesses to a Friday afternoon shooting.

Benton County Sheriff's department says the trio is traveling in a Beige, 4-door, Chevrolet Malibu with a temporary license. Deputies say Hernandez should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. If you see any of the people below, you are asked to call police.

On Friday, Deputies say they received a 911 call reporting two cars which pulled up to 700 block of 8th Street at a high rate of speed. One of the cars picked up Mariah Coronado, who was shot, and drove her to the hospital, deputies say the other car took off. Another call came in from Kadlec about 15 minutes later, reporting to deputies they had a gunshot victim.

Benton County Sheriff Jerry Hatcher says after talking with witnesses they believe six people were in the apartment off 8th and Della Street at the time of the shooting, but only one woman was in the apartment when deputies arrived. Shortly after the shooting, Coronado's acquaintance picked her up and took her to the hospital in Richland.

Deputies say Mariah Coronado was shot in the back with a rifle, but as of Friday, she was in stable condition.

Benton County deputies said Friday they were going through surveillance video to identify anyone who might have been involved in the shooting.
