Members of the Dayton School Board voted unanimously Monday night to offer the Superintendent position to current Kalama School District principal Guy Strot.

The vote was taken following candidate interviews with members of the community and school staff members.

Strot was one of three finalists in the hunt for a new Superintendent for the Dayton School District to replace Doug Johnson.

He has fourteen years of experience in education, with a Master’s in Teaching from Concordia University.

According to a press release from Educational Service District 123, e is currently in his fifth year as a principal at Kalama School District, and previously served as a teacher and principal in the Lind Ritzville Cooperative Schools.

The district will make a formal announcement confirming the finalized contract offer at their upcoming board meeting, scheduled for February 19, 2020.

Strot is expected to begin his new position July 1, 2020.
