The TRAC in Pasco will not be renamed anytime soon. Instead of decide on a business proposal for the naming rights of the Pasco event center, commissioners will now open it up for others to submit their own contracts.

Franklin County Commissioner Bob Koch says it is for legality reasons.

"Everything has ceased until this request goes out and we [have] received request from interested parties," says Koch.

Koch says the county administrator is working on the request, plans to submit it to the commissioners for approval and then they will open up a 30-day period for new contracts in the next few weeks. Koch says it will be September at the earliest before they take up the naming rights again.

This decision comes after West Coast Auto Dealers submitted a $1 million 10-year contract for naming rights at the commission meeting last week. Commissioners tabled the issue after posing many questions about the cost that might be incurred by the county for signage changes.
