Benton City Man Dies in Car Crash

(Richland, WA) -- Washington State Patrol says 66-year-old Gerald Harris died at the scene of a wreck around 5:30 Thursday morning. This happened off Washington State Highway 240 right where it meet Highway 225. Harris, who was driving a car, apparently failed to yield the right of way while approaching the intersection on the northbound side of 225. A truck heading eastbound on the 240 slammed into Harris' car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. State Patrol says the victim was not wearing a seat belt.
