REC Silicon has announced that it will be re-starting its polysilicon production plant in Moses Lake later this month.

Work had been halted earlier this year due to the impacts of the on-going U.S.-China trade disagreement.

Governor Jay Inslee reportedly spoke to the Chinese President about the issue during his Seattle visit last year.

Inslee says well he is happy for production to start, the solar trade dispute remains unresolved and will continue to threaten the REC.

"We will also continue our efforts to try to help the parties involved reach a swift resolution. I have discussed this issue personally with both President Xi and President Obama, and my staff continues to communicate with relevant stakeholders," said Inslee in a statement.

He added it is important for all stakeholders to come to the table and compromise on the issue.
