WSP investigating fatal collision in south Kennewick

(Kennewick, Wash.) The Washington State Patrol is investigating a fatal collision involving a semi-truck and a pedestrian Sunday morning.

According to the WSP, a 46-year-old Kennewick man was walking south along the highway, then walked into the path of the semi traveling in the same direction.

The driver of the truck kept going south, but turned around when he was able and headed back to the scene. He reportedly was cooperating with investigators.

The incident happened just south of the intersection of Highway-395 and Hildebrand and closed the southbound lanes for a time.
