Washington Senator Doug Ericksen Dies at Age 52

(Olympia, WA) -- Washington State Senator Doug Ericksen has passed away. The Whatcom County Republican tested positive for COVID-19 while in El Salvador last month. He was taken to a hospital in Florida but was reportedly in stable condition and recovering. The official cause of death was not immediately released.

Governor Jay Inslee issued a brief statement earlier today:

"Trudi and I send our deep condolences to Doug's family, friends and colleagues. Our hearts are with them."

Doug was 52. He leaves behind a wife and two daughters.
