(Olympia, WA) -- Minimum wage workers are starting the new year off with a new raise in Washington State. As of January 1st, the minimum wage has increased 80-cents from $13.69 an hour to $14.49. The pay bump is due to a cost of living increase based on the Consumer Price Index. It applies to workers ages 16 and up. Employers can pay 85-percent of the minimum wage to workers between 14 and 15 years-old.
