If you were hoping gas prices would start dropping after Memorial Day weekend, keep hoping. Allison Mac with GasBuddy.com says prices are on the rise-- but that's not the only thing driving gas prices.

"In Washington you also have some of the highest gas taxes, which is helping us hit that third highest gas in the nation benchmark," Mac said.

Prices in Washington have risen more than two cents per gallon since this time last week. Right now we're paying about $2.48 in Benton County, $2.46 in Franklin County, and $2.60 in Walla Walla County.

Mac says California and Hawaii are the only two states with higher average state-wide gas prices than Washington.
