Seattle Police Activate Stage 3 Emergency Operations

(Seattle, WA) -- The Seattle Police Department is activating Stage 3 emergency operations due to staffing shortages. The police department made the move Wednesday--clearing detectives and other non-patrol units to act as first responders to 911 calls.

Officials say the has lost over 300 officers over the past year, and could lose hundreds more if they fail to turn in their proof of vaccination against COVID-19 by next week's deadline.
