(Soap Lake, WA) -- The Grant County Sheriff's Office says a barricaded suspect who kept authorities at bay for hours has been taken into custody. This all began earlier Friday when the suspect, who deputies tried to serve a felony warrant against, refused to come out of his home off the 300 Block of Road 20-Northwest. Law enforcement arrived on scene and contained the situation to the unidentified suspect's property, but officials with Soap Lake School District decided on a modified lockdown as a precaution. That meant school buildings were locked and students and staff could move freely while inside, but they could not venture outside. Grant County Sheriff's Office says the Soap Lake Police Department is the first responding agency at the scene, and the sheriff helped out with deputies and a K-9 unit.
