Oregon Governor Reaches Agreement on Statewide Timber Harvesting
(Salem, OR) -- Governor Kate Brown says she's reached an agreement with timber companies, small forestland owners, conservation leaders, and fishing organizations on changes to a timber agreement that affects over 10-million acres of forest lands in Oregon. The proposal is a compromise of sorts that would allow more timber harvesting, but also meet the state's Conservation maintaining clean water and recreation activities. It must now be approved by the state legislature.
